The winter transfer market is typically a time of feverish rumour and potential big-money transfers. A number of high-profile stars are being linked with moves away from their current clubs. This article explores some of the major names that are poised to be changing clubs in January.

A. Semenyo

Despite Ghana's inability to reach the AFCON, this has left the forward available, it appears a significant transfer is close. Recent developments point to the Premier League champions are now the frontrunners for his signature. This English centre-back has impress for Palace despite a summer move to Anfield collapsing. Furthermore, there are rumours from Spanish media that he is prepared to accept a reduced salary for a move to Real Madrid.

The experienced Germany shot-stopper is now as third-choice at Barça following the coach Hansi Flick. Having fallen out of favour and had an operation, a winter exit looks highly probable. Villa were once mentioned as a potential suitor, but that move now appears off. Instead, interest from Turkey and Saudi Arabia are reportedly showing interest in the keeper.

Ivan Toney

This proven England centre-forward has continued scoring frequently in Saudi Arabia. Coming back to the Premier League could boost his fading chances of being in the England squad. Following starring at the Under-19 European Championship, he has become a regular in the AZ side. The 19-year-old is widely tipped to complete a major transfer this month. Newcastle United are believed to be frontrunners, but are facing strong rivalry from Real Madrid for a signing valued at around £22 million.
