I'll dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to promote next month's boxing match.
Ex two-time unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I will injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Civil Exchange
In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters participated in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is really going ahead.
